BARLEY, ENGLISH GENTLEMEN'S CLUB
BARLEY, which means "barley" in English, is a two-seater armchair for a tête-à-tête, also called "confidant". This exceptional and very contemporary piece of great elegance is inspired by its shape of the Second Empire and by its style of the Chesterfield armchairs of the end of the 19th century.
BARLEY is the collective work of three craftsmen designers: Justine Bossé who wove the high quality leather on a low loom; Vincent Hudelot who designed the structure from an original oak trunk; Magali Voirin who designed the seat and its upholstery to offer comfort and elegance to this warm seat.
The confident BARLEY, a luxurious aesthetic in a British spirit
A mix of tradition and modernity, this two-seater armchair has been completely revisited to adapt to today's stylistic codes while keeping the charm of the intimacy of the French confidant and the atmosphere of English clubs.
Exceptional for the French know-how it combines, the quality of its materials and the modernity of its aesthetics, this seat highlights subtle and very contemporary design elements such as the brass glass rest or the nets inlaid in the wood.
The talent of our French know-how
The confident BARLEY illustrates the talent of our young designers and their capacity for innovation. Concerned about the material, its quality of production, French and eco-responsible, their perfect mastery of their know-how allows them to invent new techniques as well as new uses for interior decoration.
Presented at the Salon des Métiers d'Art et de la Création - REVELATIONS in 2019, BARLEY has been proposed to the Mobilier National as part of the contemporary furniture acquisition campaign in July 2020.
