Wood in his veins !
Self-taught design woodworker, Frédéric D.DRIANI has created, ever since the 80's, pieces of furniture and decorative objects which mingle both of his passions : that for wood and that for design.
For 25 years, this woodworker has collected precious wood coming from all parts of the world. He knows the stories attached to each and every one of the wood species present in his workshop, their characteristics and properties, thus enabling him to assemble rare (especially today) and magnificent wood types into unique pieces.
Passion for Design and Perfection
This wood-lover is also crazy about Design. He started out at the time when Philippe Starck, whom he admires, was emerging as a figurehead for contemporary designers. And the various trends such as Bauhaus, Art Déco or the Memphis Movement launched by the designer Ettore Sottsass are contained in the DNA of his references and inspirations.
Springing from all of these multiple influences, he created quite a unique identity, that of a design witholding structure and elegance, seeking a perfect balance between matter, form and proportion, favouring various techniques in design as well as complex assembling , all this dedicated to afficionados of beautiful wood essences and objects.
Frédéric D.DRIANI exhibits pieces of furniture and arts work amidst his vast gallery-workshop. He takes part in exhibitions such as the Salon Maison et Objet and works at collaborative projects for hotels and luxury brands.
