Discover NERIKOMI ceramics, inspired by traditional Japanese art

The ASANOHA plate, which means "hemp leaf" in Japanese, is handmade according to the traditional Japanese NERIKOMI technique, also called NERIKOMI or mixed earths, that is to say by assembling different colored earths according to a well defined process.

This technique of assembly of grounds known as NERIKOMI is of a complex training to lead to the desired geometrical forms. Yuko Karamatsu brings back to life the traditional Japanese motifs, often rich in symbolism.

The ASANOHA plate represented by a multitude of triangles that form hexagons between them, is a traditional motif in Japan that symbolizes good health or a talisman.

Yuko Kuramatsu, a ceramist between Japanese and French cultures

Yuko Kuramatsu, Japanese ceramist and Poitiers by adoption, takes us on a journey through her culture which she revisits with great poetry and extreme delicacy.

Each piece is handmade, sanded and not glazed to keep all its mattness, a velvety touch and its transparency that characterizes this porcelain that can be admired from either side.
