Design and craftsmanship
The "Christie 1" hand and table mirror was designed by the cabinetmaker Morgane Ratton. Made of poplar plywood and rattan cane, its natural materials are warm and trendy. Its soft rounded shapes as well as the different ways to take it or to put it down give a lot of character and singularity to this everyday object.
Morgane Ratton revisits our everyday objects
Designer and cabinetmaker, Morgane Ratton makes furniture design her specialty. What she likes is to revisit and update pieces of furniture, both in their forms and in their uses. Her ambition is to propose an aesthetic and a new look of the object, to rediscover materials, to be open to new forms.
His dual training in art and design gives him a particular sensitivity to materials and craft skills. Also, all his creations are the result of close collaborations with other craftsmen. For her, the design of tomorrow is first and foremost a matter of sharing, exchange and close reflection between the designer and the artists of the material.
